Where We're Heading
For the past two and a half years, LAMOTH has been on the path toward building a permanent Museum facility in Pan Pacific Park, adjacent to the existing Holocaust Monument. To date, this important project has earned the support and cooperation of various local agencies and community officials including:
- The Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks
- The Mid-City West Neighborhood Council
- Congressman Henry Waxman
- Congressman Brad Sherman
- Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa
- Councilman Eric Garcetti
- Councilman Jack Weiss
- Councilman Tom LaBonge
- Assemblyman Paul Koretz
Most recently, LAMOTH submitted a full MND Report in support of its Museum Building Project. This comprehensive, independently conducted environmental impact report was an important step in the process of receiving approval from The City of Los Angeles and the State of California. In the coming months, LAMOTH will continue to work closely with city and state officials to see that this important project reaches fruition. We hope that our efforts will culminate in a 2007 ground-breaking.
